The newly built station is designed to offer up-to-date amenities to travelers. It was created to complement the Hampi monuments. The electrification project of the station “establishes flawless train operation on electric traction at a cost of about Rs 530 crore,” according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
As part of the modernization initiative, the Indian Railways has been renovating railway stations all around the nation. The train station, which is close to Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been renovated with contemporary amenities for travelers.
To improve connectivity in the area, PM Modi paid a visit to inaugurate the electrification of the Hosapete – Hubballi – Tinaighat stretch and the renovated Hosapete station.
Besides this Prime Minister also laid the cornerstone for several Hubballi-Dharwad smart city projects during his visit to Karnataka. He will dedicate and officially launch a number of Hubballi-Dharwad smart city initiatives. It stated that the approximate total cost of these projects is Rs. 520 crores.
