Central Government to Launch Massive Plan to Desilt Dams, Including Tungabhadra Dam: Union Minister C R Patil
At the inauguration of the new 33 spillway gates of the Tungabhadra Dam in Munirabad, Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, C R Patil, stated that if the silt is removed from the reservoirs, the capacity will increase by 30% and the income of farmers will double. The event was organized in collaboration with the Water Resources Department and the Tungabhadra Board at the government high school grounds in Munirabad.
50% discount on pending traffic cases in Hospet
The Karnataka government is offering a 50% discount on pending traffic e-challans registered before May 2026 and specific Transport Department cases. Vehicle owners have a 20-day window to clear their dues at half the prescribed penalty. The discount applies from June 21 to July 10 and is eligible for police e-challan violations and pending Transport Department cases, but excludes pending vehicle tax dues.
