In view of the Ganesh festival celebrations taking place across the district, the Deputy Commissioner, Kavitha S. Mannikeri, has directed police senior officials and excise department officers to deploy precautionary police deployment so that no untoward incident occurs during the Ganesh idol immersion procession.
The order mandates that all liquor shops, bars and restaurants throughout the district remain closed from 6 a.m. on September 16 to 6 a.m. on September 17, and again from 6 a.m. on September 18 to 6 a.m. on September 19, with the sale and transport of alcohol completely prohibited.
