Hampi Tourist Police arrested Deepak Gowda on Friday after he posted a video on the internet. In the video, he was seen dancing on top of the monument of the renowned Hemakuta Parvata Jain temple.

Deepak Gowda (25), a resident of Kalenahalli, Pandavapur Taluk, Mandya District, has been taken into custody. Deepak Gowda posted a video on social media of himself dancing on top of the Hampi temple. The public was offended after his video of dancing on top of a temple was released.

M.C. Sunilkumar, Assistant Conservator of the Archaeological Survey of India, had complained about this on February 28 at the Hampi tourist station. According to District Superintendent of Police Shri Haribabu B.L., Deepak Gowda was taken into custody as a result of this complaint.

The administration has issued a severe directive prohibiting the use of cellphone cameras in any way in Hampi’s key locations. As a result, Sriharibabu BL stated that visitors who tamper with or damage the monuments will be given a two-year prison sentence.

It is prohibited to dance or record videos on the Hampi and Virupaksha Temple-protected sites. Deepak Gowda is currently a guest of the police after creating reels and sharing them on social media.
