Why Is This Statue Known As Kadalekalu Ganesha?

This statue is 4.6 meters high. This 15 feet high statue was carved with a huge boulder. The belly of the statue of Lord Ganesha has been carved in a way that looks similar to the Bengal gram. Bengal gram in the local language is called Kadalekalu. Therefore, this statue is known by this name. This statue is one of the largest statues in Hampi.

Other airports are situated at Belgaum which is at a distance of 190 km from Hampi and Bangalore airport which is 353 km far from Hampi. After reaching any of these places you can use any local transport to reach Hampi.

By Rail

Hampi has no railway station, so the visitors who are willing to travel by train can reach Hospet. This is the closest railway station to Hampi. You can take any local transport and easily reach Hampi. There is not much distance between these two stations.

By Road

The Road network of Hampi is remarkable. It connects many cities by road. So visitors can reach Hampi by road through bus, cabs, bikes, and other common local transport.
