G. Janardhana Reddy, the Chief of Kalyana Rajya Pragati Paksha and MLA of Gangavathi, has called upon Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to prioritize the development of Anjanadri Hill, a revered site believed to be the sacred birthplace of Lord Hanuman.
Accusing the former BJP administration of neglecting the advancement of this revered location, G. Janardhana Reddy emphasized that the influx of pilgrims from both domestic and international regions has been steadily rising. However, he pointed out that the area is lacking essential facilities to cater to the needs of the visitors.
Stating that Anjanadri, located in Gangavathi (Koppal district), holds the esteemed distinction of being Lord Hanumantha’s (Hanuman) birthplace, G. Janardhana Reddy highlighted the unfulfilled promises made by the previous BJP administration. Despite pledging to develop Anjanadri akin to Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, no significant progress has been witnessed, he asserted.
While addressing the Legislative Assembly during the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, G. Janardhana Reddy accused the former BJP government of making a grand announcement of allocating Rs 120 crore for the growth and enhancement of Anjanadri. However, he claimed that not a single penny was disbursed towards this endeavor.
Expressing disappointment, G. Janardhana Reddy highlighted the high hopes people had placed in the BJP, expecting them to undertake the development of Anjanadri since they held power at both the state and central levels. He urged the current government to take necessary measures towards the progress of Lord Hanuman’s birthplace.
Emphasizing the importance of the new government’s involvement, G. Janardhana Reddy urged them to scrutinize the allocation of Rs 120 crore previously announced by the former government in their budget. He stressed the need for additional development in the area and requested the government to provide essential funds, considering the substantial influx of visitors, including both international tourists exploring Hampi and Anegundi’s tourism spots, as well as Hindu devotees from various regions.
