The final voter list for Vijayanagara district has been released, confirming a total electorate of 10,08,367. District Collector Kavitha S. Manikere stated that 1.48 lakh voters were removed from the list during the revision process. The comprehensive revision procedure was completed in the district according to the prescribed schedule.
Speaking at a press conference in Hosapete on Wednesday, Manikere noted that 14,210 new voters were added to the list after the draft was published. Notices were issued to 30,622 voters between August 24 and September 23, of whom 30,494 submitted appropriate documents and were included in the final list. Among those notified, 26 were found to be deceased, 43 had permanently shifted to other locations, 50 were already registered elsewhere, and 9 failed to respond to inquiries, resulting in no response from a total of 128 individuals.
The District Collector clarified that only three objections were filed regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), all of which have been resolved. No political party has filed any objection or complaint regarding the voter list revision or the removal of names. The district has 456 service voters, comprising 351 men and 5 women. There are 19,803 young voters, with 10,392 men and 9,409 women, and two voters identified as sexual minorities. The voter list will be provided to all registered political parties, with Deputy Commissioner P.N. Lokesh providing supplementary information.
Prior to the SIR, the district had 11.42 lakh voters. During the comprehensive revision, 38,412 deaths, 69,598 permanent shifts to other areas, 18,926 existing registrations, and 415 unreachable individuals were recorded. This results in a 13 percent reduction in the number of voters on the final list.
