In a decisive move, Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered the suspension of key education officials in Vijayanagara district following a dramatic drop in SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) examination results. The district, which previously held the 10th position, plummeted to 27th place this year. The officials suspended include the District Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) and Block Education Officers (BEOs). Additionally, notices were served to teachers and the Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to address examination irregularities and improve the district’s educational standards.
This action underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring accountability and enhancing educational outcomes in the region. The drastic fall in performance triggered a swift response, reflecting the administration’s proactive stance on educational quality and oversight.
