NTPC Renewable Energy seeks bids for 1,000 MW wind project in Ballari

NTPC Renewable Energy has announced a call for bids for a Balance of System (BOS) package for a 1,000 MW ISTS-connected wind energy project in Bellary, Karnataka (Tranche-V). The deadline for bid submission is July 16, 2024, with the bids set to be opened on the same day.

The project’s scope includes detailed design, engineering, micro-siting, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and verification of performance parameters for the wind project installation. The work entails 33 kV internal evacuation lines from the unit substation, pooling substation, central monitoring, and control station, wind monitoring masts, and the external EHV transmission line up to the ISTS substation. The BOS package excludes the supply, civil works, and installation of Wind Turbine Generators (WTG), unit substations, and SCADA.

Bidders must ensure compatibility with WTGs of 3 MW and above from the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers. The bidding document fee is ₹22,500 (~$269.7).

Eligibility criteria include executing or facilitating wind projects with a cumulative capacity of 40 MW or more, including at least one 10 MW project, covering land arrangement and micro-siting of turbines. Alternatively, bidders should have managed land arrangement and obtained technical feasibility approval for power evacuation for grid-connected solar or wind projects totaling 100 MW or more, with at least one 50 MW project.

Bidders must also be developers of grid-connected wind power projects with a total installed capacity of 40 MW or more, including a single 10 MW project operational for at least six months. Additionally, they should have completed an industrial project as developers or EPC contractors in the power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertilizer, cement, or similar industries, with the project operational for at least six months. Furthermore, they should have completed an electrical substation project of 33 kV or higher, operational for at least six months.

For projects between 50 MW and 300 MW, bidders must have an average annual turnover of not less than ₹570 million ($6.8 million). For projects exceeding 300 MW, the turnover requirement is ₹1.9 million ($22,777.6) per MW.

NTPC Renewable Energy has also recently invited bids for a BOS package for a 500 MW state transmission utility-connected solar power project in Bhadla, Rajasthan. Stay updated on tender activities by subscribing to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker.
