DC interacts with Ministers regarding the possible Flood situation

As the monsoon has kicked off in various parts of the state, CM B S Yediyurappa instructs all the DCs to take preparatory measures regarding the possible flood situation in the state. It has been predicted following the last year’s flood situation.

In the districts of Ballari and Vijayanagara, The CM instructed the DC Pavan Kumar Malapati to take relevant measures to evacuate people from the villages that are prone to be affected by the overflow from the Tungabhadra reservoir.

In the Bellary and Vijayanagara districts, 10 villages in Siruguppa 10, 1 in Kampli, 2 in Hosapete, 16 in Hadagalli, 3 in Harapanalli are prone to be flooded. The administration has been taking relevant measures to deal with the flood situations in these villages.

The people from these villages shall be evacuated to the nearby schools and public buildings temporarily if any flood situation arises in the future and the necessary food arrangements shall be made available to the evacuated people.

The DC submitted a report to the CM informing that 32 villages are expected to receive Covid care centres. Nodal officers shall be appointed at each of these centres to monitor the situation.

CM B S Yediyurappa interacted with the DCs through the video conferencing and informed them to prioritize the flood-affected people and to release the funds to the affected ones.

In Karnataka state, 1710 villages have been recognized as Flood-hit villages and the CM instructed the officials concerned to take charge and prioritize evacuation of people and animals in distress.
