It has been reported that two youngsters threw a water bottle on stage during a performance by well-known singer Kailash Kher during Hampi Utsav in order to compel him to sing a Kannada song. Both individuals were brought to custody for throwing the bottle from the audience gallery on Sunday night.
A three-day cultural festival, Hampi Utsav, began on January 27, the first since the creation of the new Vijayanagara district. Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated the four stages of the event – the main one at Gayatri Peeta, Eduru Basavanna Vedike, Hampi Virupaksheshwar Vedike, and Sasuvekalu Vedike – on Friday evening.
Famous Bollywood and Sandalwood performers gave performances during the event, which also featured a light and sound extravaganza to highlight the beauty of the World Heritage Site. Bollywood playback singers Arman Mallik and Kailash Kher as well as Sandalwood playback singers Arjun Jannya, Vijaya Prakash, Raghu Dikshit, and Anannya Bhath were invited to perform.
