VIMS inaugurated training program on Biomedical waste Management

On August 30, the Vijayanagara Institute for Medical Sciences started the training program for the effective management of Bio-Medical waste. Dr Gangadhar Gowda, director of VIMS, launched the training program on the collection, sorting, and disposal of waste in accordance with the provisions of the Karnataka Environmental Pollution Control Board in the B.C Roy conventional hall.

After inaugurating the training program, he addressed the gathering and explained how segregating biomedical waste is a mandated duty of every hospital. He explained how toxic biomedical waste is and how it impacts the ecosystem. He also exclaimed, In any case, it is essential to ensure that it does not mix with ordinary waste.

Speaking of the training, “We have launched this biomedical waste management training program for nurses and ‘D’ group employees who are important in maintaining the cleanliness at VIMS hospital. The training will be held till September 7 and all hospital nurses and D-Group employees are expected to benefit highly from the program.
