Police have arrested three individuals in connection with a scam involving Jenny Milk, a company that allegedly duped 318 farmers in Vijayanagara district. The company had enticed farmers with a scheme to purchase lactating donkeys at inflated prices, falsely promising to buy back the donkey milk at ₹2,350 per litre.
Those arrested include Nutalapati Murali, the 43-year-old managing director from Vedapalayam, Andhra Pradesh; Kavalapalli Umashankar Reddy, the 33-year-old manager from Kadapa district; and Syed Mohammad Gous, a 27-year-old supervisor also from Kadapa district.
At a press conference in Hosapete, Superintendent of Police Shrihari Babu B.L. revealed that five bank accounts linked to the company, including three in Hosapete and two in Andhra Pradesh, have been frozen. The scheme was exposed after several farmers lodged complaints on September 19. The case is expected to be handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
