Hussainappa, a security inspector assigned to the Ballari Division of Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC), met a tragic fate as he was fatally attacked near his residence in Ballari on Sunday night. The victim hailed from Sindhanur taluk in Raichur district, adding a poignant dimension to the incident.
According to statements from KKRTC authorities and the police, the inspector was on his way to Humnabad in Bidar district, where he held the position of a recruitment officer responsible for appointing driver-cum-conductors, when the unfortunate incident occurred.
D.M. Devaraj, the Divisional Controller of KKRTC in Ballari, revealed that he received a distressing call from a fellow colleague, informing him about the incident. Promptly, they notified the police and rushed to the scene, where they discovered the lifeless body lying in a pool of blood. Law enforcement authorities arrived swiftly to respond to the situation.
Addressing the media, Additional Superintendent of Police, Ballari, Nataraja M.A. asserted that the incident was unmistakably a case of murder. The location of the offense was in close proximity to the victim’s residence. Based on the evidence captured in the CCTV footage, it was evident that the victim was riding a two-wheeler at a leisurely pace when the assailant struck.
Responding to inquiries, Nataraja M.A., the Additional Superintendent of Police in Ballari, affirmed that the police are thoroughly investigating the case from all possible perspectives. He mentioned that Hussainappa held a position involving the examination of complaints against personnel and overseeing investigations. As part of their inquiry, they are considering the likelihood of the crime being committed by someone who might have felt aggrieved by Hussainappa’s actions. Additionally, the authorities are also examining potential family-related issues. The Gandhinagar Police Station in Ballari has officially registered the case.
