Rameshwaram Cafe blast suspect traced on possible Ballari to Bhatkal route, says NIA

The Rameshwaram cafe blast suspect, identified through CCTV footage, was observed boarding a Mantralaya to Gokarna bus at Ballari bus stand on Wednesday evening. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team, leading the inquiry into the Bengaluru suburb bomb blast on March 1st, tracked the accused’s movements to Ballari.

Analyzing CCTV footage from the central bus stand, the NIA team discovered that the suspect had previously visited Tumkur bus stand a day before arriving in Ballari, where he remained masked and spent time.

Upon confirming the accused’s purchase of a ticket to Ballari, the NIA team continued its investigation, interviewing the Mantralaya to Gokarna bus conductor on Thursday. The latest information suggests that the accused disembarked at Bhatkal, as confirmed by the bus conductor. However, his subsequent whereabouts remain unknown. Despite the uncertainty, investigative agencies express confidence in apprehending the suspect soon.

A joint effort involving around 10 NIA officials and support from the Tumkur police team is currently engaged in a manhunt. Reviewing CCTV footage from Ballari bus stand, the team noted that the accused changed his attire, contrasting with his appearance in Tumkur. The suspect, seemingly cautious, was observed walking inconspicuously near CCTV cameras, possibly to avoid drawing attention to any perceived apprehension.
