Preeti Gehlot urges people to use eco-friendly Ganesha idol

In order to reduce the water pollution levels in the Karnataka state, Preeti Gehlot, Ballari Municipal Corporation Commissioner Preeti Gehlot declares the prohibition of the sale and usage of Ganesha Idols made of Plaster of Paris (POP).

Under the jurisdiction of Ballari Municipal Corporation, the sale and usage of Ganesha idols made up of Plaster of Paris (POP) with added chemicals and harmful colours have been prohibited. “The worship of idols made of mud and natural colours are allowed”, said Preeti Gehlot.

To preserve the water flowing in the Tungabhadra canal, the ‘Ganpati Visarjane’ will be allowed at specific points in the city, like, Bangalore Road, Talur Road, Kappagallu Road, Hosapete Road, Allipura, Belugallu Road (DC Nagar), Siruguppa Road.
