Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Karnataka on March 12 to lay the foundations for major development projects worth more than Rs. 16,000 crores. He will dedicate and lay the cornerstone for significant road developments in Mandya at noon. After that, he will inaugurate and lay the cornerstone of Hubbali-Dharwad development initiatives at around 3:15 PM.
The electrification of the Hosapete – Hubballi – Tinaighat segment and the upgrading of the Hosapete station will be dedicated by the prime minister to enhancing connectivity in the area. The electrification project, which cost more than Rs 530 crores, ensures continuous train operation using electric traction. The renovated Hosapete station, constructed in the style of Hampi’s monuments, provides travelers with convenient and modern amenities.
The prime minister’s ambition to provide top-notch connectivity across the nation has been demonstrated by the speed at which infrastructure projects are being developed. The Prime Minister will dedicate the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway to the nation. The project entails widening NH 275 to six lanes through the Bengaluru-Nidaghatta-Mysuru segment. The 118 km-long project’s development cost came to approximately Rs. 8480 crores. The journey from Bengaluru to Mysuru will take approximately 75 minutes instead of 3 hours. It will serve as a catalyst for the socioeconomic growth of the area.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for the four-lane motorway connecting Mysuru and Hushalnagar. The project, which spans 92 km, would be developed for about Rs 4130 crores. The project will be crucial in improving the connection between Bengaluru and Kushalnagar and will reduce travel time from around 5 to only 2.5 hours.
PM in Hubbali-Dharwad
The prime minister laid the IIT Dharwad Hubbli foundation stone and dedicated it to the nation in February 2019. The institute, which was built at a cost of approximately Rs. 850 crores, currently provides M.Tech., Ph.D., and inter-disciplinary 5-year BS-MS programs in addition to 4-year B.Tech. programs.
The prime minister at Sri Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Station will dedicate the world’s longest railroad platform to the country. The Guinness Book of World Records recently recognized the record. The 1507 m extended platform was constructed for roughly 20 crores of rupees.
The Prime Minister will officially launch and lay the cornerstone for a number of Hubballi-Dharwad smart city projects. These initiatives are expected to cost a total of roughly 520 crores of rupees. By building clean, secure, and useful public places, these initiatives will improve the quality of life and transform the town into a cutting-edge urban hub.
The Jayadeva Hospital and Research Center’s foundation will be officially opened by the prime minister. The hospital would be built for around Rs. 250 crores and offer tertiary cardiac care to the local population. The Dharwad Multi Village Water Supply Project, which will be made at a cost of more than Rs. 1040 crores, will have its foundation stone laid by the Prime Minister in order to significantly improve the region’s water supply. Moreover, he will lay the cornerstone for the approximately Rs. 150 crore Tupparihalla Flood Damage Control Project. The project, which entails building retaining walls and embankments, attempts to lessen damage brought on by floods.
