B. Nagendra, the Minister for Youth Empowerment, Sports, and Tribal Welfare and Ballari district in-charge, addressed a district-level conference of beneficiaries of guarantee schemes in Ballari. He highlighted the significant impact of the guarantee schemes implemented by the government in empowering the common people, positioning Karnataka as a model state for the development of disadvantaged and marginalized sections through the country’s largest social security programs.
During his speech, Nagendra emphasized that the government is fulfilling its promises made during the last Assembly elections by successfully implementing the five guarantee schemes. He asserted that Karnataka’s achievements in this regard have made it a model for other states, prompting them to consider similar initiatives.
Nagendra assured the public that the government is committed to the welfare of the state, utilizing funds collected from the people for their benefit and the overall development of the region. Responding to speculation about the government’s stability, he affirmed that the Congress government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, will provide stable governance and complete its term.
The minister directed the district administration to conduct a special survey to identify genuine beneficiaries who may have been excluded from the schemes and ensure their inclusion. Nagendra provided details of the expenditure, with ₹566.53 crore allocated for guarantee schemes in the district.
Ballari City MLA Nara Bharath Reddy, presiding over the event, commended the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister for their commitment to development works alongside the implementation of guarantee schemes. He highlighted ongoing projects, including financial support for the Ballari City Municipal Corporation and upcoming initiatives such as granting property rights and providing housing to families.

The Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation distributed two-wheelers to some beneficiaries, and outstanding Anganwadi workers were felicitated.
