In a significant development, Mylar Infra Private Limited has received the nod from the Karnataka government’s State-Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC) for its ambitious ₹339.84-crore project in Vijayanagara. The proposed venture aims to establish a state-of-the-art multi feed-based distillery unit in Huvinahadagali, Vijayanagara. This key approval, granted on January 12, 2024, underscores the government’s commitment to fostering industrial growth and creating job opportunities in the region. The project aligns with the broader initiative to encourage diverse investments across the state, with a particular emphasis on promoting development in districts beyond Bengaluru.
Mylar Infra’s venture is poised to contribute significantly to the economic landscape by not only generating employment locally but also bolstering the industrial infrastructure in Huvinahadagali. The multi feed-based distillery unit, with an estimated cost of ₹339.84 crore, signifies a strategic move towards sustainable practices, as it can produce ethanol from various raw materials like sugarcane juice, molasses, and grains. Ethanol, a renewable fuel, holds promise for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and diminishing reliance on conventional fossil fuels.
This approval comes as part of a broader set of 73 projects valued at ₹3,935.52 crore, emphasizing the state’s commitment to fostering a conducive business environment. The Karnataka government recently gave the green light to a total of 73 projects valued at ₹3,935.52 crore, offering the potential to create 15,000 jobs statewide. Among the notable ventures, ETL Secure Space and DhaSH PV Technologies, based in the city, presented projects worth ₹490.5 crore and ₹346.35 crore, respectively.
M.B. Patil, the Minister for Large and Medium Industries, highlighted the significance of these projects approved by the 142nd State-Level Single-Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC). He emphasized that the cleared projects would contribute to balanced investments across diverse regions of the state, particularly benefitting North Karnataka districts. One standout project is Mylar Infra’s ₹339.84-crore proposal for a multi feed-based distillery in Huvinahadagali, Vijayanagara. Additionally, Sango India Automotive Part is set to invest ₹278.59 crore in an exhaust system manufacturing plant at Harohalli in Ramanagara. Both projects, approved outside Bengaluru, are expected to play a crucial role in the industrial development of their respective regions.
