Hampi Utsav To Finally Be Held On November 13

The very famous and quintessential festival of all times, The Hampi Utsav, this year has finally been decided to be celebrated for just 1 day, Ballari district incharge Minister, Shri Anand Singh announced the date on Thursday to be November 13, 2020. In the wake of COVID-19, all the necessary precautions to maintain social distancing will be taken by the state government.

Usually, every year Hampi Utsav is celebrated for 3 Days, which is why various organizations in the Ballari district have demanded the Hampi Utsav to be carried out for 3 days. But the containment of pandemic was given priority by reducing the 3 day schedule to a single day event. It has also been decided by the district administration that this year there will be no stage performances.

A procession on the evening of November 13th, will start from Uddana Veerabhadra to the Virupaksha temple with various folk art groups from each taluk in the Ballari district and the government has now decided to carry out the ‘Tunga Arati’ on the banks of the Tungabhadra River, which flows in the party of Virupaksha Temple.
