The highly anticipated Hampi Utsav-2024 is poised to commence today, Friday evening, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah set to inaugurate the event. The Vijayanagara district administration assures that all necessary arrangements have been meticulously put in place for the grand unfolding of the mega event.
The focal point, Gayatri Peeta, along with three additional stages, stands ready to host the festivities from February 2 to February 4. Organizers are anticipating a substantial turnout, with approximately 10 lakh people expected to witness the three-day extravaganza.
Ensuring the safety and convenience of attendees, the district authorities affirm that robust security and parking arrangements have been implemented. As part of the Utsav, ‘Hampi by Sky,’ a helicopter ride for tourists, and a bike rally were ceremoniously flagged off on Thursday.
Vijayanagara’s Deputy Commissioner, MS Divakara, reveals that the inaugural event will be graced by the presence of VIPs, including Vijayanagara district in-charge minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, Kannada and Cultural Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi, and Ballari district in-charge minister B Nagendra.
The four designated stages—Gayatri Peeta, Edaru Basavanna, Virupaksha Temple premises, and Sasive Kalu Gangapa Temple premises—are primed to host a diverse array of cultural and entertainment programs throughout the duration of the Utsav.
