Security has been stepped up in Hampi after the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Vijayanagar district police have intensified security arrangements, particularly considering the heavy influx of tourists.
Acting on inputs from central and state intelligence agencies, authorities have tightened vehicle checks at entry points to Hampi. Continuous patrolling is underway, with police closely monitoring suspicious activities. Inspections have also been carried out at hotels, resorts, and homestays to ensure the safety of both domestic and international visitors.
Following directives from senior officials, additional security measures have been implemented around Hampi and the Tungabhadra reservoirs. Key heritage sites like Sri Virupakshwara Temple, Sasive Kalu Ganapati Mantapa, Vijaya Vitthal Temple, Kote Anjaneya, and Kaddirampura Cross are under heightened surveillance.
“Following the terrorist attack in Kashmir, we have strengthened police security at major tourist destinations like Hampi and TB Dam.
