Hampi development authority targets unauthorized resorts. Owners urged to vacate in 3 days.

Hampi Development Authority officials have issued evacuation notices to owners of unauthorized resorts in Sanapur, Hanumanahalli, Chikkarampur, and Anegundi areas, urging them to vacate the premises voluntarily within a three-day period.

The jurisdiction of Hampi World Heritage Area Management Authority encompasses 15 villages in Gangavati taluk. Any construction in this area requires explicit permission from the authority.

In a previous instance, the court had mandated the eviction of an unauthorized resort in Virupapuragadde, Sanapur, and Anegundi. The district and taluk administration had successfully enforced this order by vacating and demolishing the resorts.

Despite these past actions, unauthorized resorts began to re-emerge in the last two years. Some engaged in contempt of court by illegally constructing resorts, while others sought legal recourse through the High Court.

Despite the confiscation, owners have reopened the resorts while contempt cases remain unresolved. Numerous complaints prompted the recent notices, urging voluntary evacuation within the stipulated three-day timeframe.
