Gali Janardhan Reddy to Make long-awaited return to Ballari this evening

Former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy is set to arrive in Ballari City this evening, marking his return 13 years after his arrest by the CBI on charges related to illegal and unscientific mining, and financial misconduct. Reddy was taken into custody on September 5, 2011. Although he was granted bail after five years, he was prohibited from returning to Ballari due to concerns that he might influence witnesses.

This evening will be Reddy’s first visit to Ballari following the lifting of the ban. As the MLA from Gangavati, he plans to visit several temples in the area for puja this morning with his wife, Lakshmi Arun, before arriving in the city. Supporters are expected to welcome him near the Mahadevatatana Mutt in Allipur, and a procession will take him to Durgamma Gudi via Sudakras, Moti Circle, and Royal Circle before heading to his residence. Many supporters have expressed their enthusiasm by displaying banners throughout the city.

Speaking to reporters after offering tribute at the Channabasavaswamy temple in Koppal, Reddy expressed his happiness about returning to his hometown after 14 years. He acknowledged Gangavati for giving him a political rebirth and mentioned that he is returning with Hanuman’s blessings. He remarked that no one should have to endure living away from their birthplace.

Reddy criticized those who previously targeted him, alleging their motives were selfish aspirations for political power. He specifically called out Siddaramaiah, stating that the former chief minister has lost his peace of mind due to involvement in corruption. Reddy noted that while Siddaramaiah had previously called for a CBI inquiry against him and Yeddyurappa, he himself has not resigned despite facing allegations.

Declaring his commitment to rebuilding the party from the grassroots level in Ballari, Reddy stated he would work diligently to restore BJP’s power in the region. He announced plans to kickstart his election campaign for the Sandur constituency tomorrow, asserting that the party’s success in the district hinges on the victory in Sandur.
