In the early hours of Wednesday, a gang of thieves targeted unsuspecting individuals who were resting at the parking lot near Gunda Botanical Garden (Gunda Forest) in Mariammanahalli, Hosapete. Exploiting the opportunity, the thieves made away with over 3 lakh worth of cash, gold jewelry, and mobile phones. The incident occurred near National Highway-50.
During their journey to Gangavati for a wedding, Muhammad Sadiq Pasha (38) from Tumkur and his family made a stop near Gunda Botanical Garden to rest. While some members of the family slept inside the car, four of them decided to rest outside.
Unfortunately, during this time, thieves seized the opportunity and stole ₹6,000 in cash, gold jewelry weighing 80 grams worth ₹2.80 lakhs, and three mobile phones valued at ₹15,000 from the sleeping individual’s purse. The incident has been reported to the local police station, and a case has been registered accordingly.
