Excise officials arrested a man from Bihar in Bellary on Thursday for selling chocolates laced with ganja.
The Excise Department received a tip-off about selling these chocolates in a hut near the rice mill by Ankali Math temple in Siruguppa taluk. Acting on this information, officials raided the hut of Kapal Paswan, where they discovered 261 chocolates (totaling 1.350 kg) mixed with ganja. The confiscated items are valued at 2,600.
Kapal Paswan, a native of Devakuli village in Darbang taluk, Bihar, has been placed in judicial custody. Deputy Superintendent of Excise Asharani conducted the raid, Excise Inspector Sridhar Nironi, Deputy Inspector B. Veeranna, and staff members Umesh, Devaraja, Raghavendra, Lakshmana, Mahantesh, Harish, and others.
