Describing the BJP’s role in Ballari’s development as negligible, Nara Bharath Reddy, the Congress MLA representing Ballari City, emphasized the Congress’s significant contributions to the district’s industrialization.
He credited the Congress for bringing the Jindal Steel Plant and establishing the Ballari Thermal Power Station (BTPS), which generated employment opportunities and supplied power across the state. Reddy criticized the BJP for its lack of substantial developmental efforts despite representing Ballari in the Lok Sabha multiple times.
Addressing a public gathering in Bandimot, Reddy condemned BJP leaders for demeaning the guarantee schemes implemented by the Congress government, highlighting their vital role in supporting the underprivileged. He urged voters to elect a party that values and uplifts the poor, labeling the BJP as anti-poor and advocating for the Congress as pro-poor.
Reddy underscored the development initiatives undertaken by the Congress government in Ballari and announced a fund allocation of ₹120 crore for the city’s progress. The event was attended by members of the Ballari City Corporation, including Prabhanjan Kumar, Minchu Srinivasalu, Rajeshwari Subbarayadu, and Shobha.
