Anil Lad as JD(S) candidate in Ballari

Anil Lad, a prominent Congress leader, has decided to run for the Ballari City constituency under the Janata Dal party. This move came after the Congress party announced Bharat Reddy as their candidate for the same constituency, leaving Lad without a party ticket.

Anil Lad, accompanied by his supporters and Janata Dal(S) workers, held a rally on Thursday and officially submitted his nomination papers to the Returning Officer N.S. Rudresh at the Ballari City Municipal Corporation. In a statement to the media, Mr. Lad urged the public to support regional parties such as the Janata Dal(S), citing their growing popularity across several states in India.

Initially, the Janata Dal (S) had announced Mhim as their candidate, but with Lad joining their ranks, they changed their decision and fielded Lad instead. This development highlights the shifting political alliances and strategies that are common in the world of politics.

When questioned about his decision to leave the Congress party, Mr. Lad expressed his disappointment with the party’s decision to choose Na. Ra. Bharat Reddy over him as their candidate for the Ballari City constituency.

Anil Lad expressed his confusion and disappointment regarding the Congress party’s decision to nominate Bharat Reddy as their candidate for the Ballari City constituency, stating that Reddy has not made significant contributions to the party or the constituency. In contrast, Lad claimed to have a book detailing his developmental work for Ballari.

Lad criticized the Congress party for their candidate selection process, claiming that they stumbled by choosing a Reddy candidate and failing to properly analyze caste equations. He highlighted that all major parties have fielded Reddy community candidates, including G. Somashekhar Reddy from the BJP and Lakshmi Aruna from the Karnataka Rajya Praghati Paksha. Lad suggested that the Congress party should have selected a candidate from a different community to better represent the constituency.

Anil Lad confidently stated that the Janata Dal(S) will win two seats in the united Ballari district, including the Ballari City and Hagari Bommanahalli constituencies. Previously, the party had announced Munna Bahi as their candidate for the Ballari City constituency, but with Lad’s entry into the party, they replaced Bahi with Lad. Lad also mentioned that he would try to convince Bahi to join him in election campaigning.

When asked about the party’s vote bank, Lad stated that the JD(S) has its own base in the district, and he, being a fighter from the Kshatriya community and belonging to the Chhattrapati Shivaji tradition, would not indulge in any adjustment politics. This statement highlights the importance of individual identity and beliefs in political campaigns and parties.
