An AC explosion at Kalyan Jewellers in Ballari has resulted in several individuals sustaining injuries, one of them is in critical condition. Legal action has been taken for negligence under sections 287, 337, and 338 of the law.
The incident occurred on Teru Street around 6 pm on Thursday and is believed to have been caused by a fire in the AC vent during central AC gas refilling. No foul play is suspected according to the Ballari SP.
A case has been registered under three sections of the law. Section 287 pertains to negligence with machinery, carrying penalties of up to 6 months in jail or a fine of Rs. 1000, or both. Section 337 addresses causing harm by endangering lives, with punishments of up to 6 months in jail or a fine of Rs. 500, or both. Section 338 relates to causing serious harm by endangering lives, with penalties of up to 2 years in jail or a fine of Rs. 1000, or both. Gas technicians Ahmmed Basha, Saiyad Tabrej Basha, Saiyad Juber, Arun, and Ningappa were injured, with Ahmmed Basha in critical condition.
