The Bellary Zilla Panchayat has opened its doors for online applications, offering sewing training for women. Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will receive a complimentary advanced electrical sewing machine.
As per the 2023-24 action plan outlined by the Additional Chief Secretary (Panchayat Raj) of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department in Bangalore, the Industrial Division of Bellary’s Zilla Panchayat will conduct this training.
Online applications are currently being accepted for sewing training, with 26 slots available for general category women candidates hailing from rural areas within the district’s RAP scheme zone, and a total of 30 slots reserved for scheduled caste women candidates under the 4-unit scheme (SCP).
The deadline for application submission is set for June 10, 2023. In case the number of eligible applications exceeds 30, candidates will be selected through a lottery system. Those selected will receive free residential training without tuition fees at the Sindh Rural Training Institute in Bellary, and upon successful completion, they will be presented with advanced electrical sewing machines.
Eligibility criteria include: 39 slots for Bellary taluk, 37 for Siruguppa, 37 for Sandur, 37 for Kampli, and 37 for Kurugodu, making a total target of 187 candidates. Applicants must be between 21 and 45 years old (as of the first application date, September 7, 2023), and should have at least a 10th-grade education. Only one application per family is allowed, and government employees or their dependents are not eligible to apply.
To apply, candidates should visit the website at ballari.nic.in, where they can fill in the necessary information and upload self-attested copies of relevant documents.
The required documents for upload (self-attested copies) include a passport-sized photograph (in JPG format), proof of date of birth (transfer certificate/SSLC mark sheet or other relevant certificate in PDF format), educational qualification documents (transfer certificate/marks list in PDF format), caste certificate (PDS model), and a ration card (in PDF format). Additionally, candidates should provide a confirmation certificate from their respective Gram Panchayat Development Officer confirming their interest in tailoring.
