10 days training programme for Nurses at VIMS; Experts anticipate Covid-19 third wave

The district administration, Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences, District Hospital and the District Health and Family Welfare department all together with expertise in coordination inaugurated a 10 days training programme for the nurses working in the Bellary intensive care unit, in the wake of the anticipated Covid-19 third wave PMSSY Traumacare Hospital, headed by the Department of Neurosurgery and Children.

Ballari Municipal Corporation Commissioner Preeti Gehlot inaugurated the training programme and spoke Informing how important this training programme would turn in the future if the Covid third wave emerged. She requested everyone to make complete use of the programme.

Dr T Gangadhargowda, Director of VIMS, who chaired the event, addressed the gathering and spoke about how adequately and effectively the 2nd wave was tackled. He said the 3rd wave could also be most successfully handled if all healthcare personnel worked as a team.

Dr Durgappa, the head of the children’s section, spoke up and said that “We should be prepared to face the 3rd wave of war”. The training will be conducted over a period of 10 days.
