District Additional Superintendent of Police B.N Lavanya calls for a peaceful celebration of Ganesha Chaturthi this year by announcing the allowance of only 1 Ganesha idol establishment for every ward in the district. 4-feet tall idols for Public places & 2-feet tall idols for houses shall be permitted.
A preparatory meeting chaired by ASP B.N Lavanya discussed the precautionary measures to be taken during the celebration of the Ganesha Chaturthi festival. It was held in the centenary hall, beside the Gandhinagar Police station in Ballari city on Tuesday.
One Idol establishment for every ward in the district shall be permitted. All the Covid appropriate guidelines have to be strictly followed during the installation and establishment of Ganesha idols.
“The guidelines laid out by the Karnataka State Government should strictly be followed and adhered to. No procession during the ‘Ganpati Visarjan’ will be allowed. All the cultural events near the Ganesh idol establishment are strictly prohibited and the public is required to cooperate to peacefully celebrate the event”, informed ASP Lavanya.
She also urged the public to cooperate with the Police department to make this celebration a non-problematic, peaceful event.
The celebrations should end within 5 days of establishments by discharging the idols at designated areas decided by the administration. Ballari Sub-divisional DySP spoke showing concern, “The children mostly are unaware of Covid-19, take special care in protecting children, Covid vaccination drive shall be held near the idol establishment, and people will be welcomed to vaccinate themselves. Take care of not creating traffic issues near the idol establishment”.
