Karnataka Housing Minister B Z Zameer Ahmad Khan made a powerful statement during his visit to Hospet on Friday, expressing his deep commitment to India and his readiness to defend the nation. In a passionate declaration, Khan said he would be prepared to fight for the country, even as a suicide bomber, if permitted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the central government.
Reiterating his commitment to the nation, Khan said, “We are Indians, we are Hindustanis. We have no relation whatsoever with Pakistan. If there is a war to be fought, I am ready. If I am sent as a minister, I am prepared. I will go. I am ready to fight for the country.”
He emphasized that his statement was not made in jest or out of emotion. “I am not saying this for fun or out of excitement. I will go for the country,” he added. “Let Narendra Modi and Amit Shah give me weapons. I swear on Allah, I will strap arms to my back and go to war against Pakistan.”
The minister’s comments, made during his visit to the Vijayanagara district, have quickly gained attention and stirred debate across political and public circles. While some have called it a powerful expression of patriotism, others have questioned the tone and the mention of suicide bombing in a public statement by an elected representative.
Khan’s remarks also appear to respond to an undercurrent of political tension, where minority leaders often face scrutiny and feel the need to assert their national loyalty.
His statement from Hospet is likely to trigger a wider discussion, both in Karnataka and at the national level.
