Tungabhadra gates open for water but closed for public on 15th August

The Tungabhadra Dam and Garden will be closed for public on this independence day. The decision was taken to avoid the mass gathering of people which may increase the spread of COVID-19. The Tungabhadra Board has requested the public to avoid visiting the Dam on 15th of August. All gates will be opened on 15th August and decorated with the tricolour lights.

There is also a flood warning issued for the villages across the river.
The people living near the river should be careful and move to safer places, said Tungabhadra Board in a statement issued on Friday.
The authorities have already prepared for the evacuation of cattle livestock around the Tungabhadra River.

Friday inflow of water was marginally higher compared to Thursday. On Thursday, 50,609 cusec inflow was recorded. The number increased to 51,177 cusecs on Friday. After five consecutive days, the inflow continued to rise.
