Karnataka Region Youth Congress President H.S. Manjunatha Gowda criticized the central government, alleging injustice to Karnataka in the allocation of tax shares and grants. He called for a strong campaign against what he termed the Centre’s anti-people policies.
Speaking at the Congress Youth Conference organized near the municipal bus stand on Friday, Gowda said, “The state government’s five guarantee schemes have proven successful and have boosted the economic condition of the poor. As announced by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, a grant of ₹1,200 crore has been sanctioned for the comprehensive development of the Sandur constituency. The Congress government remains fully committed to Sandur’s progress.”
MLA Annapurna Tukaram added, “The state government will distribute Indira Food Kits along with ration rice to benefit the poor. Introducing menstrual leave for all working women is a landmark initiative that reflects the compassion of the Matruhridaya government.”
Meanwhile, the District Youth Congress held a torchlight procession in Patta to condemn the incident involving an attempt to hurl a shoe at Supreme Court Chief Justice B.R. Gavai.
Youth Congress state in-charge Nigam Bhandari, Ballari District Youth Congress President N.K.S. Manjunath, Social Media President Sidduhalli Gowda, Mahila Congress President Ashalatha, Municipal President Siraj, party workers, and local residents were present.
