Leaders gathered at the residence of Vijayanagar MLA H.R. Gaviyappa to hold discussions on the Sadhana Samavesha, with Minister for Housing, Minority Welfare, and Vijayanagar-Bellary district in-charge, B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan, along with MP E. Tukaram, KMF President Bhimanayak, MLA J.N. Ganesh, and District Congress President Siraj Sheikh, held discussions regarding the upcoming Sadhana Samavesha. They later visited the Puneeth Rajkumar District Stadium to inspect the venue for the conference, scheduled for May 20, 2025.
Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan announced that around two lakh people are expected to attend the event, including beneficiaries of various welfare schemes, party workers, and the general public. The conference marks the Congress government’s successful two-year term in the state and is being organized as a ‘Samarpana Samavesha’—a ceremony dedicated to public service.
Prominent leaders including Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, AICC President and Rajya Sabha Opposition Leader Mallikarjun Kharge, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar will be attending. A key highlight of the event will be the distribution of entitlement certificates to one lakh beneficiaries.
Minister Khan confirmed that all necessary arrangements are underway, with the Chief Minister scheduled to visit the venue on May 16 for a review. Emphasizing the importance of the district, he stated that all local MLAs, party leaders, and workers are committed to making the event a success. A significant turnout of women is expected, reflecting the government’s focus on women’s welfare.
