MLA H.R. Gaviappa has addressed the ongoing discussions surrounding the proposed sugar factory in Nagenahalli, assuring the public that both the Morarji Residential School project and the new factory are important to him, and that he is committed to finding a solution that serves the best interests of all.
The proposal for a sugar factory in Nagenahalli has generated excitement, especially among the farming community, who see the project as a major opportunity for job creation and economic growth in the region. At the same time, concerns were raised by some locals over the fact that the land was initially earmarked for the Morarji Residential School.
Speaking to the press, Gaviappa stated, “Students and farmers are both important to me. There should not be a problem for either side, and I am trying my best to ensure a balanced solution.”
He also highlighted the practical challenges of housing both the school and the factory on the same plot, pointing out that pollution regulations would not permit it. Despite this, Gaviappa reaffirmed his commitment to both causes, assuring the community that he is working with officials to identify suitable land for the school or the factory.
“We have already initiated discussions with the Tahsildar, and the survey is underway. A final decision will be made soon,” he said.
The establishment of a sugar factory is expected to open up significant employment opportunities and contribute to the local economy, a move that many villagers believe will bring long-term benefits to the region.
As the process moves forward, Gaviappa’s assurance of prioritizing both education and economic development has given the community hope for a well-balanced outcome.
