The district-level Janata Darshan initiative kicked off on Monday morning at the indoor stadium grounds in Vijayanagar.
Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, who oversees the district, inaugurated the Janata Darshan program. Joining him were MLA H. R. Gaviyappa, Dr. NT Srinivas, and Lata Mallikarjuna.
A total of 20 service counters have been set up, with 47 government departments authorized to accept public complaints.
This marks the first time that Janata Darshan, previously confined to Bengaluru, has been extended to district headquarters statewide, commencing this Monday.
The Janata Darshan sessions, presided over by District In-charge Ministers, will witness the participation of officials from various departments at the district level. An integrated approach among these departments aims to address public grievances effectively.
Following district-level Janata Darshans, similar meetings will be conducted at the taluk levels. Any grievances that are not resolved on the spot will be logged into the integrated public grievance redressal system and addressed within a specified timeframe.
A statement from the Chief Minister’s Office revealed that Deputy Commissioners, Chief Executive Officers of zilla panchayats, and district in-charge secretaries have been entrusted with the responsibility of this program. Their mission is to receive petitions and provide immediate solutions to the issues raised.
The release also noted that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah initiated the statewide Janata Darshan based on concerns that people were approaching him for minor matters like caste certificates, khata transfers, transformer repairs, and electricity pole installations. He questioned the purpose of officials working at the district level if such small issues were not being resolved, prompting the launch of this initiative ten days ago during a meeting with Deputy Commissioners and CEOs.
