JSW Cement Ltd’s ₹486.82 crore project at Toranagal, Ballari, has been approved and is expected to generate 225 jobs. In a significant boost to Karnataka’s industrial landscape, the 64th meeting of the State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC), chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, approved nine projects with a total investment of ₹9,823.31 crore. These projects are expected to create approximately 5,605 jobs, significantly boosting the state’s industrial landscape.
Among the new projects greenlit by the SHLCC are M/s DN Solutions India Pvt Ltd’s ₹998 crore investment at the ITIR in Devanahalli, which is expected to generate 467 jobs; M/s Silectric Semiconductor Manufacturing Pvt Ltd’s ₹3,425.60 crore project at Kochanahalli near Mysuru, creating 460 jobs; and M/s Sansera Engineering Ltd’s ₹2,150 crore initiative in Harohalli, projected to create 3,500 jobs.
The committee also approved six expansion or revised projects, including M/s Musashi Autoparts India Pvt Ltd’s ₹122.66 crore investment in Doddaballapura, creating 478 jobs; M/s JSW Cement Ltd’s ₹486.82 crore project in Toranagal, Ballari, which will generate 225 jobs; M/s NIDEC Industrial Automation India Pvt Ltd’s ₹200 crore project in Belur, Dharwad, creating 150 jobs; M/s Epsilon Carbon Pvt Ltd’s ₹740 crore expansion in Sandur, generating 325 jobs; M/s K B Steels Pvt Ltd’s ₹852.49 crore investment in Hosapete, Vijayanagara; and M/s Sify Data Managed Services Ltd’s ₹847.74 crore initiative at the High-Tech Defence and Aerospace Park.
Semiconductor Project Gets the Green Light
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah highlighted that Karnataka’s first semiconductor project will be set up at the Kochanahalli Electronics Manufacturing Cluster near Mysuru. He emphasized that investors acquiring KIADB plots must adhere to operational timelines, warning that penalties will be imposed for non-compliance.
In addition, the CM noted that the government is considering a profit-sharing model between sugar mills and farmers, with officials directed to review similar frameworks in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
