Lakshmayya Swami from Andhra Pradesh drowned in the Tungabhadra River near Anegondi on Monday, just hours after filming a video reflecting on life’s uncertainty, saying, “Whether I will be there tomorrow or not, I want to live in peace with this nature.”
According to his friends, they had visited Huligemma Temple in Huligi near Munirabad on Sunday. “He drowned in the river at Anegondi. When we cried out for help, locals rushed in to rescue him. We took him to the primary health centre at Anegondi, but with no doctors available, we attempted to shift him to Gangavati taluk hospital. Unfortunately, he passed away on the way,” they said.
It is reported that Swami had come to Anegondi to perform puja and meet his devotees. Gangavati Rural police have registered a case.
