At a progress review meeting held at the District Collector’s Office auditorium, Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Satish Jarkiholi announced that a 20-room high-tech tourist center will soon be built in Hospet to boost local tourism.
Chairing the meeting, the minister emphasized that PWD officials must conduct a mandatory review every two months under the guidance of respective MLAs to assess ongoing projects, address local issues, plan future works, and submit detailed reports. He stressed that all departmental work must be completed with quality, efficiency, and public benefit in mind, avoiding any negligence or delays.
MLAs Dr. N.T. Srinivas (Kudligi) and K. Nemiraja Nayak (Hagaribommanahalli) addressed the gathering. Meanwhile, MLAs Latha Mallikarjun (Harapanahalli) and Krishna Naik (Hadagali) urged for increased funding, highlighting the poor condition of several roads across the state and district.
The meeting was also attended by District Collector M.S. Diwakar, PWD Chief Engineer Sharanappa Soolagunti, Superintending Engineer Amin Muktar, Executive Engineer Devdas, and Assistant Executive Engineer.
