Deputy Superintendent of Police K. Basavaraj commanded a team of police officers to raid a home in Ballari’s Ranipet area on Sunday, which led to the discovery of 3.360 kg of Ganja that is estimated to be worth close to 1,000,000.
Meenakshi, Bhuvanesh, and Agasar Ganesh, who assisted D. Doula, a 35-year-old drug dealer from the same area, in smuggling and illegally selling marijuana, have also been arrested.
A case has been registered at Brucepet Police Station. Ganja is a psychoactive drug made from the cannabis plant and is illegal in India. The ban on ganja in India has been imposed due to concerns over its harmful health and social impacts. The use, possession, and sale of ganja are strictly prohibited, leading to arrests and imprisonment for those involved.
