In a tragic incident near Siddalingappa Cross in Hospet, Vijayanagara district, a drunken altercation between two friends ended in murder. The Hospet town police have arrested the accused and are investigating the case.
On September 24, a fight between Shanthakumar (25) and his friend Huligesh escalated during a drunken argument over a minor issue. The dispute occurred in the middle of the road, where Huligesh struck Shanthakumar hard on the back, causing him to fall to the ground.
As Shanthakumar lay on the ground, Huligesh continued the assault, kicking him repeatedly. Locals rushed the unconscious Shanthakumar to the Hospete Government Hospital, and he was later transferred to Koppal Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Shanthakumar succumbed to his injuries. Police have registered a case and taken Huligesh into custody.
