In a significant development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted coordinated raids early Wednesday morning (June 11, 2025) at the residences and offices of several public representatives in Ballari district, intensifying its investigation into alleged financial irregularities.
The searches were carried out at the homes of Ballari Lok Sabha MP E. Tukaram, Ballari City MLA Nara Bharat Reddy, Kampli MLA J.N. Ganesh, and at the premises of Govardhan Reddy, a close aide of Ballari Rural MLA B. Nagendra. ED officials are reportedly examining documents and other relevant materials seized during the operation.
In a separate but related action, ED officers also raided the residence of Kudligi MLA N.T. Srinivas in Narasimhagiri, Kudligi taluk, at around 5 a.m. on Wednesday. Only his mother was at home at the time, and the area has since been cordoned off with no access permitted. Sources indicate that the MLA had travelled to Tumakuru on Tuesday evening after attending events in his constituency and has not yet returned. His associates confirmed the ED’s presence at his house.
Although the ED has not released an official statement, sources suggest that the raids may be connected to the ongoing investigation into the Valmiki Corporation. Earlier allegations claimed that Corporation funds were misappropriated during the Ballari Lok Sabha election campaign.
Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
