DC M.S. Diwakar inaugurates govt schemes exhibition, conducts surprise inspection at Hospet bus stand

District Collector M.S. Diwakar inaugurated an exhibition stall highlighting the government’s schemes and achievements at the Central Bus Stand premises in Hospet. Speaking to the media, he expressed satisfaction over the successful organization of the government’s two-year achievement conference in the city.

He noted that schemes like Annabhagya have significantly helped the poor and agricultural workers, while the Griha Lakshmi scheme is providing ₹2,000 monthly to eligible women. The Griha Jyoti and Yuvanidhi schemes are also proving beneficial for their respective target groups. He further stated that the Shakti scheme has boosted the revenue of the Vijayanagara district transport department by crores every month, thereby strengthening the organization.

During his visit, DC Diwakar also conducted a surprise inspection of the Central Bus Stand. He reviewed the conditions of sales outlets, checked the packaging and expiry dates of sweets, water bottles, and packaged items, and gave necessary suggestions to vendors. He also assessed the functioning of the clean drinking water unit and directed the removal of the “₹2 per litre” signage, recommending that water be provided free of cost.

Present on the occasion were HUDA Chairman HNF Imam Niazi, Senior Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations Dhananjayappa B, KSRTC’s Rajashekar Vajantri, Press Officer K. Ramanjaneya, and several journalists.
