Darshan provided commode chair at Ballari central prison for spinal condition

Actor Darshan, who is currently in judicial custody at Ballari Central Prison, was provided with a commode chair on Monday evening due to his health issues.

The cells at Ballari prison are equipped only with Indian-style toilets, which posed a problem for Darshan, who has a spinal condition. He had requested a commode chair from the prison authorities.

After reviewing his medical report and receiving a recommendation from an orthopedic specialist, the authorities approved his request, and the chair was delivered on Monday.

Darshan has been in custody for over two months in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, where he is the second accused (A2). He was initially held at Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara prison.

A controversy emerged when a photo of Darshan drinking coffee and smoking, along with a video call clip, went viral. Following this, authorities reassigned several individuals linked to the case to different prisons. Darshan was moved to Ballari prison on August 29 as part of these transfers.
