A 23-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by a train while talking on her mobile phone and crossing the railway track at Harihar station on Tuesday night. The victim was identified as Shravani, a native of Ballari.
Shravani, an MBA student in Mysuru, had visited her relatives to attend a function. She was at the station on Tuesday night to board a train back to Mysuru.
While on a call, Shravani attempted to cross the track and failed to notice an oncoming train, which fatally struck her. She sustained critical head injuries and died instantly. Railway Police visited the scene and have registered a case.
