Ballari police arrested two suspects for production of fake currency seized 8,000 notes

Ballari police have dismantled an illegal currency operation, leading to the apprehension of two suspects involved in the production of fake Indian currency notes.

Ashok and Harish were apprehended while reportedly attempting to produce counterfeit Indian currency notes using a color Xerox machine located in Mohan Lodge within the city.

Under the leadership of Inspector Siddarameshwar and PSI Soumya, the police executed the raid, capturing the suspects in the act. Authorities disclosed that Ashok, the main suspect, had previously worked at the Bank of Baroda, providing him with knowledge of the bank’s transactions and intricate details of currency.

The accused pair purportedly aimed to circulate the counterfeit currency notes amid the enforcement of the model code of conduct, exploiting the favorable circumstances during the Lok Sabha elections.

Law enforcement officers confiscated a significant haul of 8,000 counterfeit currency notes from the suspects. The Gandhi Nagar police have initiated legal proceedings, and investigations are ongoing.
