The ongoing digitization efforts in Karnataka’s Revenue Department have gained momentum under the leadership of Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, who has actively directed the initiative through a series of meetings with officials. Bellari district has taken the lead in this endeavor, becoming the first in the state to digitize its records, as confirmed by District Collector Prashant Kumar Mishra in a recent press conference.
The Collector highlighted that, driven by the minister’s commitment, the digitization process involves listing and indexing old files in the collectorate office’s library. These files are systematically scanned and digitized, with an impressive count of 146,063 files already processed and made accessible on the government’s website.
During the press conference, several other key developments were outlined:
- Identification of 73 new revenue villages in the district, with 14 preliminary and 7 final notifications submitted to the government within six months.
