A woman, who was visiting Hampi in Hospet, Vijayanagar district with her family, accidentally slipped into the Tungabhadra river while going for a bath near the bathing ghat. A vigilant home guard, who happened to be observing the area, quickly noticed her fall and acted without delay, ultimately saving her life. The woman, visibly shaken yet grateful, was later seen sitting on the riverbank near the ghat, expressing her thanks to both the home guard and the deity she believes in.
The timely intervention by police and home guard personnel in the Hampi tourist zone prevented what could have been a tragedy. The team involved in the rescue has been appreciated for their swift and courageous response.
